Today we’re gonna talk about the 3 skills you need in order to run a successful lash business.
Number 1: Lashing skills.
This one is quite obvious but at the same time a lot of people think that they can charge a lot of money or immediately make money after taking one lash class without even having the skills. In order to gain lashing skills and become a great lash artist you need to practice. And the more you practice the better you become so make sure you’re practicing every chance you get, whether it’s on a live model or a mannequin head. If your skills are below average level (below the average of your local lash artist in your area), then this is the area that you need to focus on.
Number 2: Editing Skills
Even if you are an amazing lash artist, if you don’t have any photo editing skills there is no way for your clients or potential clients to see how amazing your work is.
You need to take high quality pictures and edit them in a way that displays your talent as a lash artist. The first thing people look at when they book an appointment is your portfolio and this is either going to be your gallery on your website or your Instagram page.
Make sure your posts and pictures are on point.
Completely unedited pictures look amateur and draws attention to the imperfections on the clients skin rather than the lashes so make sure you are editing the skin
When it comes to editing you don’t want to over edit to the point where the lashes don’t look the same. You never want to edit the lashes only the skin.
Number 3: Marketing Skills
You may have the most amazing work and pictures in the world, but what's the point if nobody knows how amazing your work is?
Marketing is the act of promoting your business or services. By posting pictures of your work on social media, You will be able to attract potential clients or customers who are interested in your services.
When it comes these 3 essential skills, you can’t have one without the other. Without marketing, you won’t have any clients, which means your business won’t make money. And without editing skills, your potential client won’t be impressed when they see pictures of your work.
And last but not least, if you don’t have the basic fundamental skills of lashing and the quality of your work is not there, no amount of editing skills or marketing will matter.
In order to run a successful business you need all three of these skills. Don’t worry if you haven’t mastered all or any of these skills. Knowing what area you’re lacking in is the first step in order to start taking action to achieving your goal.
